Multiple arrests and drugs seized during County Lines Intensification Week in Eastleigh and Hedge End |

Officers seized drugs, gathered intelligence, disrupted offenders and safeguarded vulnerable people during a week of action against county lines drug dealing networks across the Eastleigh district. Between Monday 2 March and Sunday 9 March, various drug-related operations and activities were carried out across our area. The proactive work was undertaken by officers from various departments and teams, including the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team (NET), Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), District Policing Team (DPT), as well as one of our dog handler and PD duos. On Monday 2 March, a warrant was executed at an address in Hedge End, where after forcing entry and searching the address, a 28-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged. Jordan Jake Hammett, of Shamblehurst Lane, was charged with; • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B • Acquire/use/possess criminal property He pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3 March. Hammett was remanded on conditional bail and will next appear at Southampton Crown Court for sentencing on Friday 27 March. We’ll be sure up keep you informed as to the outcome of that hearing. From the address, officers also seized wraps of cannabis, suspected Class A drugs, an imitation firearm, Taser and knives – our investigation continues following their discovery. On Thursday 5 March, officers completed a proactive stop search of a vehicle at the junction of Hocombe Road and Winchester Road, Eastleigh. Cash and suspected Class A drugs were also seized during the search. A 23-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, acquire/use/possess criminal property, use a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance and drive a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. He has since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries. On Friday 6 March, following another vehicle stop, this time at the junction of Pluto Road and Tommy Green Walk in Eastleigh, two more men were arrested. This time, a 36-year-old man from Portchester and a 30-year-old man from Southampton were both arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A. The pair have since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
